Have you thought about covering self-publishing at all? It's increasingly popular and one of the few ways around traditional publishing's firewall (they won't publish people without any 'diversity points' for instance). Mostly effective for genre fiction so far as I can tell (that's how Dungeon Crawler Carl got into bookstores), but it's something to discuss at least.

And, where the pulps start, literary fiction may eventually follow.

I would like to at least try my hand here for a few months. My greatest concern is, of course, the DEI stuff in literature, and I'm writing a bit about that for next week's post, but I'd like to think that there is still maybe *one* agent out there who puts good writing over diversity statistics. I would like to eventually become a serious author of lit fiction, and unfortunately, the best way to do that is through traditional publishing.
